Starting the new year, we will introduce new versions for our 16040 and 12040 aluminum extrusion profiles. These new profiles will be a bit lighter than the versions used before. This change will be noticeable on the Treq Ace and Treq CXX sim rigs, as well as our cut-to-length custom profiles in the DIY section.

The design philosophy is now in line with our 4040 and 8040 profiles, used for years in our most popular rig, the Treq One. This change in profile shape results in lower product weight, reducing shipping cost and improving the handling of packages. Which in turn results in less dents and fall damage. We kept all profiles fully slotted and all rigs kept the same functionality as before.

The Ace and CXX are already overkill rigs in their design, and on top of that used to have heavier type profiles. That's over-dimension on top of over-dimension. We would not have made this change if we believed our sim rigs would be influenced in a negative way. Most of our products prices have not increased for over 5 years and this change will keep that going for a while longer.

The drawings and renders for the 4040 have been updated as well, as we have actually always shipped a bit heavier version than was used in the images/info. All our products that have aluminum profile will now use the following types:
