ABOUT US
Treq was founded in the summer of 2020 by Jim, Rick and Tim, who've met during their study at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Automotive Engineering. They shared a love for cars and racing. Jim hasn’t missed any of the last 300 F1 races, Tim builds and casts his own 2-stroke engine blocks and all three step in a go-kart regularly.
While still very young at 35, Jim has been playing racing simulators for most of his life. Starting of with Geoff Hammond’s ‘Grand Prix 2’ at the age of 8, and he hasn’t quit since. Over the years he’s had numerous racing wheels, pedals and rigs, playing various racing titles on consoles and PC. He can definitely tell you a thing or two about sim racing.
In the summer of 2023 Tim and Rick left the company, while Niels joined his forces with Treq. Niels had lots of experience with managing and growing a production company, and was a sim racer at Treq’s eSports team from the get go. Having raced with Treq on the virtual playgrounds for almost 3 years, he is now involved in our production and development processes.
Our goal is to bring passion to the sim racing community with a lot of in-house developed products. We love well thought out and 'over engineered' products, and that's what we want to bring to you. Together with awesome quality and personal service. We're a small team, but we try to be as fast off the track as on it: practially all orders are shipped within 24 hours and emails get a reply even quicker!

The Journey
2020
When the coronavirus pandemic hit, the sim racing market struggled to keep up with demand, leaving customers empty handed. After waiting over 50 days for an order of his own, while not getting any updates from support, Jim saw a need for a reliable, customer-focused alternative. Together with former fellow students Tim and Rick, hard work was put in, and a few months later Treq was born. Operating out of a small warehouse in Duiven, we launched our very first rig, the Treq One, alongside a handful of core accessories.
Balancing full-time jobs with our new venture meant countless late nights, with every order personally delivered to local pick-up points.

In Treq’s early days, our energy went straight into product development and solving the challenges of international shipments. As we rolled out new rigs and accessories with a minimal marketing budget, word of mouth spread. Sim racing communities became the channel through which we earned the trust of drivers worldwide.
2022
Working late into the night was no longer sustainable, prompting Jim to step away from his job and dedicate himself full-time to Treq. To keep pace with rapidly growing demand, we needed extra hands.
Alongside a small group of permanent staff, Niels, who had been racing endurance races with us for some time already, came along to lend some.

Seeing massive potential to streamline operations, Niels bought out Tim and Rick’s stakes and joined the company full-time.The transition also called for a fresh start a but further south in the Netherlands, leading to us moving at the end of the year to our current home in Boekel. A facility roughly three times the size of our original warehouse.
The extra space allowed us to invest in specialized equipment, including an in-house aluminum cutting setup that officially brought our DIY section to life.
In October we hit another exciting milestone: exhibiting at the Sim Racing Expo alongside BavarianSimTec. Seeing the Treq name line up alongside giant brands like Logitech, Hyundai, and Fanatec was an unreal feeling.

Order intake never slowed down, and we needed more hands. Thinking we wouldn’t find any luck asking our own community first, we did try hoping to find someone who shared our passion. And then Paul, a customer from the very beginning (and owner of the 12th Treq One ever sold), replied, and brought reinforcements to the team not long after.
Product innovation kept pace too: we launched the sleek, easy-to-install Treq CXX, laying the groundwork for our next generation of rigs. By the end of the year, we expanded our workshop by nearly 400 m² again, giving us the room we needed to streamline production and hold more inventory.
Profiles now arrive by the truckload. With the Treq CXX established as a success, we set out to adapt its construction across our entire lineup. A task that demanded bigger, faster tools. Enter our newest team member: a brand-new CNC milling machine. It paves the way for a new generation of products for which the first ones will arrive by the end of the year.
Stay tuned...
